2501, See You On The Other Side

2501, “See You On The Other Side”

2501 is a human dynamo pulsating with creativity. He is the type of artist who is constantly finding outlets for his ideas. Being a visual artist, this usually means he’s often on the hunt for new walls to do public art pieces and creating studio series for gallery shows. He never stops creating and that is something we at DOZE really admire. His attitude of constantly pushing his art and himself forward fits DOZE’s vision so well.

As a result of his progressive inclination 2501’s distinctive style of painting has been seen in galleries and walls all over. His utilization of black and white wavy lines to create mostly gigantic ambiguous form proves to be a very effective approach in the streets. 2501’s street pieces are elegant and clean making it pop from the usually busy public settings he implements them. The visual impact of his style and the intriguing ambiguity which comes from his use of figureless forms makes 2501’s art one of the most exciting and recognizable in today’s contemporary art scene.

2501 has recently held his first solo exhibition in the US. In the process he caught up with DOZE, he did a video interview and also a massive wall piece in LA. Above are slides taken during 2501’s mural painting and below is a video that shows 2501 talking about his personal history, his art’s roots and evolution, his first latest one man show and everything else which may help you gain a deeper understanding about 2501’s art.

Take a peek at what goes on inside this artist’s mind. Take a look at how the fleeting fluctuations in his creative center make their way into urban walls and studio pieces.
